Town of Superior Trustee
After 30 years of inclusive leadership of local, national and international non-profit organizations, I am asking for the support of Superior residents in my bid to become a member of your Board of Trustees and to listen to and represent you in every decision I make.
Why I believe I would be a good addition to the Board
As Vice Chair of Superior’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee (PROSTAC) for the past three years, I have been a strong advocate for Town engagement of residents in decisions on the School Parcel and Superior Town Center parks as well as research related to indoor recreation and civic space needs and expansion of Town Hall. I am the only candidate who has actively participated in Town Board meetings for more than a year and who attended all three 2017 Budget Planning Meetings.
Having been an integral part of the Summit at Rock Creek during its successful construction defect litigation, I am strong advocate for ensuring that property owner rights are protected and that through responsible development, Superior listens and responds to our current residents and protects our future ones.
My Vision for the town of Superior
While protecting and preserving the strength and spirit of Original Superior and its founders, Superior will be a community that responsibly and inclusively managed development to ensure a vibrant, healthy and secure home for both business and residents.
What I see as the most pressing issue facing the town
Although pending development of Town Center and other town parcels holds great promise for Superior, it is critical that careful scrutiny occur at each stage of development to ensure that the products presented attract and accommodate citizens of all ages and provide a solid investment for those who seek to do business here. Our Board of Trustees must be prepared to put in the work required to carefully review and research proposals, to engage the community in decision-making, and to be less concerned about how fast and more concerned about how well our community develops.
A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others.
He does not set out to be a leader, but becomes one by the equality of his actions and the integrity of his intent.
Thanks to everyone in Superior who supported my campaign and voted. I look forward to putting in the hard work to maintain the trust you have all placed in me to be transparent and to engage the community in decisions.
